Nearly bought one a week back, but decided that he would pose too much of a risk to my pictus. Fantastic fish though, I'd love to have a shoal of them fully grown, must be quite a site.

And when it dies you can use it as a saw...

yup, still got another 12" to go

THey are generally peaceful, very friendly fish.
ALmost let me "pet" him, but it changed its mind and i almost got my palm sliced open

I got it from a display tank from my local big als, it was in there for about 5 years

That'll be a lovely gentle giant when its older, I just hope your tank is at least 4 x 2 x 2 foot....

they may be gentle giants but theyre nearly blind. it cant really distinguish between food and other fish. if it fits in its mouth it may become food and you dont want to take that risk with pictus's who would probly end up killing the raphael too.
