giant guppies

i was at a lfs and i was looking around when a tank full of female guppys caught my attention. i have had guppys all my life in big tanks and none of them were the size of the ones i saw. so i decided to buy some. I put them in my 15 gal with my 1 male guppy and, what i thought, 4 full grown female guppys, some noens glo lights and some honeys. I had a mollie female in there as well because the male in the other tank was chasing her around and nipping at her. Any way. after i released my giant gupps i looked at them for a while. they were bigger then my molly! and she was relly big! I really cant beleive how big they are. and theyre all preggers

any way thats just my little story.

I say a platy (or a molly that resembled a platy) that was 3" big and really bulbous. I asked the Petsmart guy what it was and he was surprised at seeing them. He said he wouldn't sell them to me (I never asked to buy them) because he didn't knwo what they were and why the two of them were in their own tank.

Maybe the max size is different in wild forms than captive. Also, it could have been a mix between a molly and a guppy, though i'm not sure if it'd work.
