giant gourami

i was at my lfs the other day and i finally figured out what the big fish was hes ahd it for 21 years and it huge at least 2.5ft long and 2ft high its all pink but i didn't know gouramis got so big anyone ever seem these before?

I haven't seen a gourami longer than 4".

However, with good conditions, I'd suspect that many fish would get that big. The owner must ahve been doing a very good job raising it.

My lfs has some dinosaur type gouramis They're massive, at least 18"

THey have a huge tank with some in at the London aquarium - maybe 2feet long. Seing as they were in with bala sharks and other large fish which you can buy small in the lfs, I was wondering if they had been accepted by aquarists who couldn't cope with them - must happen a lot if you think about it .

The Osphronemus goramy known just as Gourami can get to 24" long, sometimes bigger. I don't know of a pink one, only more brownins or reddish....
