Giant Catfish, Stingrays Among World's ''monster''

It's sad that alot of them are on the verge of extinction b/c of overfishing.
Stupid people just can't realize that they can't keep taking and taking and taking without consequences of their greed.

human nature, we are a pretty selfish species :(

Holy s**t look at the size of that sting ray, that is cool. Though I don't want to even thing about what's happening in the picture :(.

It's nice to know that the largest fish in those pictures is native to the UK :D. I remember there was an article about them eating whole swans years ago in 'tropical fish' magazine  . Cool stuff.

Thanks for the link :).

An interesting point: during the floods, a large angaling lake was flooded and a number of its inhabitents escaped, including a number of Wels catfish. Wels are native to the UK, but only in the largest rivers and lakes where there is enough food to support them to grow up to a large enough size to breed. So when these have been released, they will be eating everything in the rivers around the flooded areas to suport their bulk, wiping out the ecosystem and then eventually dying of starvation.

No we cant, but if they live and breed, the rivers will be decimated. But who knows, they may well find a place to survive and may well be supported by the river.
