Damming in the Amazon is extremely dangerous. They are finding that hydroelectric dams are stirring up large amounts of methane gas that has built up on the bottom over the years from decay from branches, leaves, and other organic matter. The gas is surfacing and is causing four times more atmospheric damage than coal plants.
