Hi everyone.

i was in one of the more reputable LFS's in my area on the weekend only to find a tank full of "giant cardinal tetras".

they were about 3 inches long and 3/4 inch tall (back to bottom so to speak).

as i've never heard of such a fish before i'm lead to think they were grandad cardinals who have been fed too much.

anyone know any different?

they have jumbo neons so i should think they can have giant cardinals...
ive never seen them though

I would like to see them too. My cardinal atm is arround 1.5inch reach according to fish info its about 3/4 of its maximum size. If they can really group to 3inches I would like to know what kind of food they feed them tho.

sounds like they may have been fed using a steriod or growth hormone.
I can't find anything anywhere that lists anyother type of cardinal than the std and the green cardinal

I heard carndinals are hard to keep alive cause most of the lfs by me don't usually get them cause there so delicate

Knock I think cardinal r very hard I have 9 before and they have servive 2x ich outbreak and still have 7 remain in a ph of 8. My tap water really pissing me off :(. Generally they r very hardy to me. And neon on the other hand aren't pretty hardy I lost half of my total neon during those 2 out break. So now I only buy cardinal when my 10g is ready I remove my 4 neon over and add 5xcardinal back.

whats the difference between a normal cardinal and green cardinal when I observe my cardinal they sometime blue sometime green. Is it just angle or just some of mine r green?
