would they go in a tank with barbs a red tail and a gourami

The red tail might be a problem... I'm not sure, though.

The barbs shouldn't be a problem. What type of gourami is it?

blue Paradise Gourami

Depending on the size of the red tail shark, i think that they red tail might eat it. Not sure about the gouramis.

P.T.

well i am wanting to add more fish so, what could i put in there that would be ok. BTW tank is 46 gallon with 6 barbs, 1 red tail and 1 Blue Gouarami

Add at least 4 more barbs IMO. The gourami's feelers might get nipped off if the barbs are not kept in a larger shoal - the minnimum is usualy considered to be 7 - more is always better. A bristlenose pleco might also be a good addition or some (5 or so) rosy barbs but keep in mind that these each grow quite large so watch you don't over-stock.
