My Ghost Shrimp has a grey "sac" with black dots in it's head that my other ghost shrimp does not have. I have only had these 2 for about a week and a half, so I'm not 100% sure how long it has been like this (I didn't think it was like this when I bought it). Is there something wrong with my ghost shrimp??? As you can see from the second pic, it actually looks like it is getting bigger.

There doesn't seem to be anything physically wrong with it, and it is growing way faster than my other one. (It is near twice the size, and they were both the same size when I got them.)

Post in tropical discussion more members go over there that know about strimp.
Good luck.

Sounds like its's eggs. On cherry shrimp and CRS it's called a 'saddle', the eggs will later move down into the swimmerets
.

Well I hope that is all it is...but everyone else I have asked about this has no idea what it could be...not even at the pet store!! :dunno: Here's to hoping you are right!!! :D

Yep, she just has eggs.

Unfortunately, the babies will likely not survive since ghost shrimp have a full larval stage in their development, and some species need brackish/seawater to fully develop.

Also, I would get more if you just have two. They'll feel safer in a group, especially if you have them with fish.
