does anybody know anything about ghost shrimp? i saw some the other day and would like to get some but i know nothing about them. thanks

I have had ghost shrimp before, and they are pretty intresting to watch. They were pretty cheap at petsmart, 33 cents I think, and they clean the bottom of the tank a little bit. The only problems with them are that they will eat your fry, and they have a pretty short lifespan. Mine only lasted 2 months or so.

Ghost shrimp are fine in most tanks. As long as you have mainly community fish like tetras, danios, corys etc., you won't have any problems. Ghost shrimp are scavengers so they will clean up left ver food that settles to the bottom. They really don't add much to the bio-load so they don't really effect your stocking scheme.

When i raised mollies over a year ago, i put a few ghost shrimp in my 20g with a whole bunch of baby dalmation mollies. I woke the next morning to find a baby dalmation mollie inside the stomach of a ghost shrimp, and the baby was still alive!!!!!!!!! I took the shrimp out and killed it and took the baby out and put it back in the tank. It made it adn i sold it months later to a pet store.
