just wondering if ghost shrimp are treats for bettas? i was thinking about buying some to put in the tank since they were 30 cents a piece at petsmart but i don't really want them as residents of the tank, but more like live treats. is this a good idea?

i would think 6 girl bettas would jump on the treat....but maybe my male betta will think it's a toy or something.......

hmmmm.....

not sure what the betta's would do with them, but my eels love them as a snack and at .30 are cheaper than tetras

Your bettas might eat them or not, just depends on the betta, I've had it go both ways. For a better chance of them getting eaten, buy them as small as possible. However, if some survive, they are great for cleaning up any uneaten food.

I have one male and one female, I bought 15 shrimp for £1 (well the guy couldunt care how meny he put in it was more like 40 ) most went in my tropical tank, a few went in my cold water tank. well there was a massacre the shark had the most and the my male jap probly came second. in a horrible way, its good fun. some servive for a week and grow huge! then just die for some reason.... maybe beacause i kept chaking the bag... i hate shrimp.

i dropped about 20 in my tank saturday and i'm hard pressed to find 3 now, but they are fun to watch when the come out.

i love my shrimp and im going to have shrimp babies!!! but anyway my females have never bother them.
