I have a fully planted (Seachem flourite) 29 gal freshwater tank near the end of its fishless cycle -nitrites go to 0 after 15 hours. Testing GH & KH with an API 5-in-1 test strip the numbers read 180 and 120, respectively. pH using drops is 7.2. Are these numbers about right? Do drop kits exist for GH and KH?

Thanks,

ranjohns

Yes they do. Made by API.

Hi Ranjohns...

I just got my API Kh & Gh liquid test kit in the post off E-bay....so they are a reliable seller & didn't charge me the earth for postage & packaging which was brilliant...(only £2 to Republic of Ireland for two test kits..I got an API Nitrate kit too!)

I can send you on the link of who I bought them from if you like?

I don't know where you are based, My ebay seller was from the UK and posts to Europe, but I'm sure there are USA based sellers too.

Yeah I would get the API test kits for sure, strips are generally inaccurate.

As for the pH, 7.2 is a really good reading!

For the other two readings I am unsure. But I am sure someone will come on here and tell you.
