hello.

i use RO water to my tank... of course my RO GH and KH are ZERO.

but to my tank. i use plants ferts..
the usually GH for my tank was 4~6 and KH was 3~4

but when my CO2 cylinder empty.. the GH and KH gone high to more than 10.

i surprized and still. i dont change water at all.

the water was 1 month old..

Anyone can tell me....

Kamel.

One reason your KH and GH have gone up is possibly because, even tho you use RO water, it still has VERY VERY VERY minute traces of calcium and other metals in it (as no RO units are 100% effective). And since you don't change water when you top off for evaporation it adds more calcium and metals that will slowly raise these levels.

Maybe someone on here will know an exact reason but that seems logical to me.
