I,m planning on moving my Cherry shrimp colony to a bigger tank but i have pest pond snails that i don't want making the move. Does anyone make an effective snail trap? There are without a doubt snails and eggs in the Java moss i want to move with them. Is there a way of treating the moss, chemically or any other way, and still making it safe more my shrimp?

There is a product out on the market in pet stores. It's called "Had-a-Snail". I personally have not used it but i've read reviews on it that it works quite well.

I'm not a fan of using chemicals but if you are going to be taking the tank down completely and can move the shrimp first and the java moss later then I would go ahead and move the shrimp and then treat the tank for snails. Once you are confident they are gone, you can move the plants.

if you are up for keeping the snail tank up and running, I've heard that smaller puffers will do quite a number on snail babies..... possibly a figure 8?
