I have 4 neon tetras, 5 zebra danios, 3 glass catfish, and a pleco.

One of my glass catfish is starting to get white spots. I have read that the best way (before using meds) to get rid of it is so slowly increase the tank temp, and put salt in the tank. Can someone please give me detailed instructions on how to do this - what kind of salt, where can I get it, how much to put it, etc. I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your time.

I dont trust the salt method so I cant advise you on it`s use, however I will say that your pleco could suffer permanent damage if you keep it in overly saline conditions

Here are two good sources to explain ich and treatment. I also don't subscribe to heat and salt. But everyone has to figure this out for themselves I guess.
