getting new70-80L tank
plan is to put pair of breeding sajica and let the fry grow.

are there any fish i can add to this that wont eat the fry and that the sajica's wont eat/attack

sajica's are 2 1/2 " and 1 1/2 "

some kind of algae eater for one ?
small red tailed black shark ??
small clown loachs

I don't know what Sajica's are but that tank is far too small for clown loaches and/or a red tailed shark... sorry

It's small for most algae eaters too, so you'll probably want to stick with amano or cherry shrimp or nerite snails if you have a bit of diatoms or small amounts of green algae.

You don't think the cichlids will see the shrimp as a meal? Otocinclus would probably be ok

Adults probably would. Fry would leave them alone for a spell. I'm not well-versed in the breeding habits of these fish, admittedly. Otos would be a bit tricky. Have to have a well established tank for them to survive and they usually come in starving.

Really, an algae eater isn't necessary, particularly if this is a new set-up. For a fry tank, a clean up crew of inverts is usually the best option so as to avoid losing fry to hungry/curious mouths.

if algae is an issue snails are the way to go with fry. I've found the Zebra Netrite snail to be the best algae eater and their shells arn't affected by water conditions like some snails. They are also beautiful to look at

There has also been some horror stories about cichlids attempting to eat oto's - mostly angelfish admittedly but be wary. If a fish attempts to eat an oto the oto instinctively extends it's fins - which are barbed - and so the oto get jammed in the cichlids mouth meaning death for both oto and cichlid. It's the reason I'm winding down the keeping of oto's due the fear one of my angels will see food one day

Zebra Netrite dont breed like mad do they as i wouldnt wanna be overrun

no - unless your water is brackish. They do lay lots and lots of white eggs on everything but without brackish water they won't hatch. If you look at the picture of my tank in this month TOTM you can see the eggs from my nerite snails all over the place. I could scrape them off but I can't be bothered!
