i'm getting a new fish tank it is a new juwel rio 180 and i am currently deciding what should go in it

i am putting in:

2 pink kissers
1 three spot gourami
2 male gouramis

but i am not sure what else i should put in i have four platys which might go in
and 2 corys

but does anyone have any suggestions what new fish should go with them
any suggestions will be appreciated

thanks
memnon :)

You would be best getting a small shoal of cories - 6 perhaps. I would also suggest some mid-swimmers (tetra or barbs, something like that) as gouramis are top level swimmers. That might leave you overstovked though...is a jewel rio 180, 180 litres? or what?

It is not best to keep two kissing gourmis together as they are pretty aggressive to their own kind. What kinda of male gouarmis were your refering to?

i was refering to male dwarf gouramis and the tank is 180 litres

I would also be careful of the gourami's, dwarfs and kissing can be a tad aggressive toward each other even in a 180l. I started with 6 dwarfs in a 200l, not a pretty sight, moved two of the remaining four (two were killed by the others) and the remaining two have just enough room, but still have the odd scuffle.

I think dwarfs would be fine in a well planted 180 gallon but personally i don't like them because they are often weak and diseased. Kissers grow up to a foot so i am doubtful whether a 180l is big enough.
