getting a new tank, after everyone on this forum convinced me, for the number of fish i want, my current 60cmX30cm tank is too small..

so, im hoping to get the tank tonight, and get the gravel and water in it...

my question is, what is the good filter for a 'biggish' tank... ??? i currently just have a filter the blows bubbles, and has a black sponge at the bottom incased in plastic, that i clean out from time to time...

underground filter? a similar to what i have but bigger filter?

Thanks again for your guys help...

:)

With that size tank you really need an external filter. We run two on our big tank but that's mainly because we want extra filtration for our Plecos.
I'm not sure what external filter to recommend as people have different opinions and experiences. We have Rena XP ones on ours and even though they do the job, they are not one of the best. We've also got Fluval filters which we've found to be quite good but a lot of members have had problems with them. I've heard that the Eheim range is good but it might be worth getting a few opinions from other members. :good:
