Getting Fish Back To Life

is there any way you can get fish back to life
If they are doing poorly, then there are chances you can revive them by providing medication. Are you thinking of something like getting the heart to start using electric discharges? For the size of fish we normally deal with its not very easy. It might be feasible with larger fish.

But once they are clinically dead then thats it!!!

I think you can create defribrillator pads using a 9 volt battery...

No. You can't bring a dead fish back to life. What you can do however, is take good advice that is given to you and prevent it in the first place.

i think what may have sparked this question is the topic entitled "Raising the Dead" over in Catfish.

that title is meant to be ironic, bettas, and not to be taken seriously. once something is dead, you can't bring it back to life. dead is dead.

what that topic was talking about is that sometimes exposing fish to severe environmental shocks like a really low temperature can also put them in a coma. this is because fish are cold-blooded animals and their bodies don't work right if they get too cold or too hot. a lot of times they die from this exposure but sometimes they can be revived if they are carefully acclimated to the correct condition. this sort of coma should never happen in the home aquarium unless there has been a major disaster.

there are some other fish that will "play dead" when they feel threatened. these fish may look like they just died a little while ago but if you try to scoop them out with a net or if its feeding time, surprise! your fish was just fooling you.

but if your fish is lying on its side or upside down and doesn't move at all when you get it out of the aquarium... :rip:

Do the research, ask well structured questions detailing exactly what your problem, and take all the advice you are given.

Don't waste peoples time and ignore advice then you won't get people calling you a troll..

Dead is not quite dead anymore. Did anybody else see stories like this ( http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,15739...name=otherside ) a few months past?

Though, to be fair, putting dogs in suspended animation with a salt solution in their veins and reviving a dead fish from the bottom of your tank are two very different stories.
