So gonna get 3 platy today. Maidenhead aquatics has some lovely guppies wich are ready for sale satturday. If I get my 3 platy today how long do I have to wait to safely introduce the guppies? Can I get them saturday or should I wait a week? I also wanted another 2 or 3 platy. What do you think? Oh it's a 60 litre tank

It's impossible to tell how cycled your filter still is.

It would be safer to try it if you got some undemanding plants, but I would personally get plants now and some guppies on Tue-Wed next week, then more platys the Saturday after, assuming your ammonia and nitrite readings remain at 0 every day in between.

Also if I didn't get the guppies would a Beta Fighter be ok with the platy? The guy at the aquatics place said they are a totally different water conditions so would they even be able to go together?

What do you think

At pH of around 7.0, it might be an option, but there's also a decent chance that they won't get on that well with each other.

Yeah just read platies are fin nippers so that's out. Is there anything that sort of size that doesn't have babies so easily that would get on with platy

It depends a lot on how you cycled your Tank?

If the tank was fully fishless cycled then the Bacteria in your filter will be well established so adding a lot of fish at once will be okay within reason but if it has not been cycled correctly then putting to many fish in at once, the bacteria will not be able to cope and you will get an Ammonia spike then you will start loosing fish

onebto: an established filter which has been sat without fish (in a running tank) for fours days.

Thing is, platys are same size as Bettas when adult.. so maybe a few different platy colours? Otherwise, there's not much else for a 60 litre. My usual recommendations for that size tank are much smaller.
