Getting Blue Rams

I will be collecting 2 sexed pairs of blue rams this weekend to go in the rio 180 http/www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=260435

Do i need to add rocks to the tank or will it be ok as it is , i have read that they will spawn on plants aswell as rocks just dont want to spend out money if not needed

They do like some smooth flat rocks to spawn on, but if not available they will find something else, maybe some slate if you have some. You dont need to buy any rocks, I never have, I go to a local stream and pick out some smooth ones, give them a good scrub in hot water and plonk them in.

that sounds good i love just plonking things in a lot cheaper
