Hi there, I'm recently returning to the fish keeping hobby and I've decided that I'd love to try planted. I have a basic knowledge of planted aquariums, but will be researching a lot over the next few days.
So far my set up is planned as:

Juwel Rio 125 / Rio 180
Eco-Complete
Pressurized Co2
Tetratec EX1200

Stocking:
3 GBR Rams, 15-18 Congo Tetra, 8-10 Peppered Cory's, Red Cherry Shrimp

I'd like to do a High-Tech planted tank, the Rio's are the best tanks I can find in my area. If anyone has any suggestions for other tanks please let them flow, budget isn't so much of an issue. I do like the look of the open topped tanks with the luminaries on top.

As a general idea, my Ideal initial budget would be about £600-700.00 (obviously there will be variables as new plants, fish, food, replacement Co2 etc etc), can go higher but want to stay as low as I can.

Point of this thread anyway, is anything you think I should really be looking into before I buy anything, any suggested resources, best site to buy plants? (Also any tank suggestions)

This is post is from another forum I am on, just wanted to post here as well to hear your guys views;

So far updated is it will be a FE CO2 System, I have a quote for a 30x15x18 tank but will be going with a 36x15x15. Was told 2x20W or 2x30W will be plenty for what I am trying to pull off.

Plants will be set out once I get the tank and have a better idea of layout (and after I've been driftwood hunting!)

welcome back :) your tank should look good once its set up i hope all goes well :)
