Hi folks,

I gave up my tropical fish tank when we moved house, it just was not practical to move it with all the fish, plus also we did not have the room. Now thanks to modern technology (Plasma TV) we now have a nice vacant corner to use. I really want to take this up again as I miss everything about it from setting it up to the slow building up of collection of fish.

Anyway enough of my ramblings, hello to everyone on the forum and I may as well say thanks in advance as I will be asking a lot of questions later on how to do it proffesionaly B)

Just wish I found this forum 4 years ago.

:hi: to TFF ! It sounds like you already know one of the most important things - patience and to take things slowly.
It's a great site and even though I've kept fish donkey's years myself, I've learnt a lot in the few months since joining. Have fun here !

Hi Bloozoo,

Yes you are right about taking it slowly. When I first got my tank years ago I thought it was just the case of filling it with water, sticking a heating element in it and lastly raming a whole community of fish in there on the same day.

Luckily a book came with the tank and I read the first 2 crucial pages which tolf me to leave the tank standing for around 2 weeks before introducing fish. It was from this point I thought there is a lot more to this hobby than meets the eye.

Hi Mark
Im sure you must be really excited getting back into the hobby

Good luck :)

Hi Weaver,

Yes your right I am very excited about getting back into this hobby, even more so than when I first started out.

I will probably start a few posts later on to learn the proper way of preparing the tank. B)
