Hi guys.
I have decided to get an overflow box for my fish tank, that way, i can cut out the really ugley black pipes in the middle of the tank.

I was wondering though, how much water will I need flowing down into the sump?
The tank is 100gallons, is there a general rule about how many LPH's should be going into the sump?

thanks
josh

For the sump, you want 3x-5x the volume of the display tank. A 3000LPH overflow box will do just fine and purchase a suitable pump accordingly. Remember though that the pump is having to push the water up probably over 1m or more, so the flow rate will be reduced a fair amount. You should be safe to purchase a 3000LPH overflow box and a 3000 LPH pump, as you will probably only get about 2200LPH going through it. Check on the side of the box of the pump or on the manufacturers website for specific details.
