Getting A Pair Of Blue Rams!

A store local to me can get rams, and they have ordered me in a pair of blue rams! I can pick them up end of next week as they do quarantine aswell.

Although Im confused, are blue rams, german blue or a different type?
Also they can get gold rams which are a tiny bit more expensive... Can a pair of these and a pair of blue live together happily? If so I might order a pair of them aswell!

blue rams are the original colour form of Microgeophagus ramirezi.
German blue rams or German rams are simply blue rams that have been bred in Germany instead of Asia.
Gold rams are a yellow colour form of the blue ram and will get along with blues as long as there is plenty of hiding places for them all.
