hi, i have been told various things about bristlenose plecs, some people have said they wont eat my plants and other have said they will, i have a large peice of wood in my tank and i will feed them algea wafers everyday, i have plants such as vallis and other easy to maintain plants, what do you guys think?????

thanks in advance :look:

A picture can speak better than words - this was done in under 30 minutes of the plants going in :look:
Some britlies do this, other don't. Be prepared the might - algae wafers or no algae wafers.....

hi, tanks size is 20gallon soon to be 40-55g there only small at the moment, yes i have around 8 spiral vallis, riccia, and some other plant thats easy to grow, cheers

Ahhh, so thats what happened to my nice sword plant!

Ok, I have loads of different plants, but they only stripped my sword it would seem.

Don't worry too much about the plants. They are cute little fish and worth the loss of the odd plant :)

I have a BN and a L200 in my community tank, and one of them is shredding my sword. I've seen the L200 on it before, not sure about the BN. And we feed algae wafers, so I don't think it makes a difference.

oh well if he eats my plants then he does ill just gradually change them to fake plants, cheers forall the info guys

I would put my money on the Bristlenose. My L200 only ever sits on the leaves but never ever does anything to them - but I have no Bristlenoses in that tank and plants are perfect and untouched.
