:hey: Ok Ok Man first off tryied loaches they worked for short time I didn't get clowns they get to big so I got skunks inst. They turned out to be to agressive for breeding tank so I moved them. Sails came back loaches don't kill all. tryied chems no luck Tryied the vac , crushing, ect . Now as for killing benifical bac and dead snail corpses. I cleaned and rinsed tank and gravel afterwards. But i didn't throw away all water that was in the tank before just strained it and mixed wiith new conditioned water and re set up tank hence no cycleing. Finally the type of snail was the little pond snail that is nothing more than a pest and food which do no alge control and over populate like crazy and eat mostly oganics like fresh laid eggs. I hope this explains and ansers. And I really hate Snails they are only good for fishbait and crushing personal opinion of course. Sincerely Curtis :fun:  :alien: B)
Here's your problem, or here WAS your problem.

Skunk loaches aren't the best snail eating loaches, and they are very well known to be aggresive. Clown loaches are easily the best snail eater you can get, followed by Zebra Loaches and Polkadot Loaches (from my experience).

Actually, skunks are pretty good at eating snails IME, but they are HUGE monsters in a 4" skinny package :p

I keep malayan snails (Really helpful snails, they eat leftover food and don't come out in daylight AND they stir up sand) but I feed my pond snails to my puffers and severum :)

I don't hate snails, If I didn't have any my puffers may not have anything to eat :p

Skunk Loaches are weird

They vary a lot from fish to fish

hey dwarfs do you keep pond snails in your puffer tank or do you breed them in a seperate tank. IM me if you want cause I might miss this thread.

He probably breeds them in a seperate tank. Fish don't really know how to pace themselves ;)

Yeah my fish are little pigs

They probably do eat better than I do too

My angel fish, Clarence, and I have a great double act now when it comes to snails. I just squish them against the front of the glass, let them go and he bombs in and gobbles 'em down. Weyyyyy Clarence!! No little bits left over and my snail population is getting less and less. :D

 Hi Guys well as far as I'm concerned no loaches no snails and I'll stick with my remedy My skunks are going to be traded in for some more Apistos. lol Sincerly Curtis :/  :alien:

But i didn't throw away all water that was in the tank before just strained it and mixed wiith new conditioned water and re set up tank hence no cycleing.
The actual water holds VERY little bacteria. So even if you were to use all of the dirty water from before you cleaned the entire tank, your tank will cycle again. The filter and gravel have the most bacteria.

Woah!! Lets not go any further until you try the JBL limcollect snail trap!! Just toss in a couple of peas into it and put the trap in your tank just before you turn off the lights and go to bed :)
I get about 40 each day out :)

 Ok. I think I need to explain something. First I never and I Mean Never Cycle. I have been Keeping Fish For Over 10 yrs and have never lost any of my fish due to not cycleing. My tank Is doing fine My Borelliis spawned the next day My water perameters are 6.5ph 140ppm t alkalinity 25-50ppmt hardness nitrite 0ppm nitrate 0 ppm 82 deg f plants are growing new leaf production and such. I do put the req water conditioners in. So as far as I am concerened Cyceling is way overated of course that is my opinion. 2nd Snails suck period. 3rd I do apreciate every bodys input and enjoy exchanging of ideas. So thanks for you alls concerns and helpful replyies. Sincerely Curtis :/
