German Blue Rams - Fading Colours

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help. My new Rams black spots/strips seem to be fading. Is this normal?

Its possible that you have two male rams. A male, female pair is usually a brilliant color, but as soon as you get two males together it seems like the colors are always faded, unless they're fighting that is.

From my reading, these fish have been tank bred to the point where they have lost a lot of color. It might have been that they fed the fish a color-enhancing food to keep the fish looking colorful and it has worn off. However, it might also be related to problems in your current tank, perhaps... Only suggestion I can make is to vary the diet, making sure to feed live/ frozen food a bit more often and to make sure the water quality is good.
