A world of my own
I think i saw a few today at my lfs. But, as you may know, i am a complete idiot when it comes to cichlids :*) , so could anyone post a picture or a link with german blue rams?

Also, do you think i can fit one in my 65 gallon with the fish i currently have?

P.T.

There a new world cichlid and are pretty easy to breed. When its time for mating they can be very agressive. 65g is plenty of room, but i dont think guppys would make good tank mates, even though they are a none agressive cichlid when not spawning they might pick on the guppys, but as for the rest, ive keept them with blue rams before with no problems.

That is what i saw! Its new world? Sorry, i told you i didnt know anything about cichlids :*) . Its tankmates would be in my signature, its all there.

They say corys aren't good tankmates for rams, because they may take a beating during spawning time. Rams are bottom-dwellers, too.

I can't say with certainty that there will be problems. I'm just relaying the information that has been posted on this forum and other places.

Rams prefer soft, acidic water.

I always assume rams will be in pairs. You won't have those problems with a single one.

One LFS around here keeps their tanks at 7.0 with rams. My tank is 6.5 with soft water (GH 4-5).

yes one ram will do fine in your tank. Your cory cats should be fine too. I had two corys in with 2 GBR pairs and the only prob I had was the corys immediately ate all the ram eggs when they spawned :/
