Hey, I was thinking of purchasing one of these beautys

But I was wondering if you can keep them alone or do they HAVE to be kept in pairs, I have an 80l tank and I heard they can be terratoiral.

You should not really have a problem with one pair in your tank. If you get a mated pair then the most you will see is a few harmless squabbles. A tank of that size should provide enough space for the female to escape the male if she 'is not in the mood' - especially if you are planning on having it planted. Even if you ended up with two males by chance, I would imagine they would be fine. You don't have to keep them in pairs but I think you would enjoy them more and see more of their natural behaviour if you do. You have the space for a pair so I would go for it - like I said, their agressivness is mostly just bluffing. HTH.

p.s. I just noticed you are planning on some corys. If anything, these fish would bear the brunt of the rams agressivness since they occupy the same area of the water column - especially if the rams mate. But, again, in a tank that size with enough cover they should be just fine. :good:
