Geophagus Parents Bored! Lol

Over the last couple of days I have moved all the other fish from the 180l tank to another tank except for the geo pair with fry. I thought with all the disturbance they would possibly eat the fry but no they are still there. However without any other fish in the tank the parents are bored and keep picking up the odd baby swimming round the tank then spitting it back out just anywhere . They have gone from being kept in a tight bunch to roaming all over the tank! I am suppose to be doing a water change on that tank

Maybe the babies are misbehaving and they are teaching them some discipline!

At least its not as bad as the behaviour going on in the 260!!!!

I have the same trouble with water changes and tank maintenance with my HRP parents/fry tank, as they are alone in the tank the fry are everywhere. To top it all they seem to think that the hose is a feeding thing like the turkey baster is....so they come towards instead of run away...not good when you're syphoning water out. So far so good though but it does make it hard work that it ought to be simple!

At least its not as bad as the behaviour going on in the 260!!!!

Not even sure what you have in the 260 since you moved fish about...not more breeding is it! I'll wait patiently for a new topic
