hi

Since buying my rio 240 i've been pretty set on getting a severum - until I saw a fully grown one yesterday at the LFS, i couldn't believe how "deep" it was! So i've decided it would be unfair to keep it in such a small tank.

while I was there however i saw a geophagus blue and thought it was beautiful! so i was hoping someone could give me any information on geophagus species such as:

1 - keep in groups or singles?
2 - diet?
3 - decorations? etc

any help is appreciated! thanks everyone

Ceri.

they like to have a sand substrate, like to be kept in groups when I did keep geophagus I had a group of 6 in a 75 gallon US tank along with 4 archocentrus spinossmus. thinking about getting the spinnos again great little fish.

Thanks for your reply. So would I be ok keeping a group of 6 in a rio 240? and if i could, I was thinking of going for cory's, maybe some botia striata and some ditherfish, like serpae tetras as tankmates? and for decor I was thinking of play sand as substrate, plenty of driftwood and some river boulders?

Oh and also, in a group do i need say 6 of the same geophagus? or can i mix geophagus species?
