Bad pic I took at the Fish Store. They do not know what they are. They are about 2-3 inches at the moment. Dark spot in middle. Gold on body and red on fins. Thanks !

Thank you Davo. I looked it up and it very may well be it. I just want to be sure it doesn't get bigger than 6"-7" as I want to put it into a 56 US gallon.

Lucky sob! these things are expensive in England (£35 for a 1" fish)

10 US Dollars each :)

Maybe I should buy all 4 ! Hope they are still there in the morning !

Also, think they are red head Tapajo's. Expensive in lfs, I was lucky to come across a breeder who was selling 6 F1's for £20, bargain!!

Man! grab the lot lol!

Not my cup of tea tho, they are kinda overpriced because they are still rare...bit like Daemons and a few others (alot of the Surimanensis spectrum)

Brasiliensis for the win! :p

I bought one today and am thinking of going to get another. He seemed happy in the tank and started digging thru the sand and munching on plant roots right away :). However my single female Ram is now chasing him relentlessly. I suppose she thinks it is another Ram ? Their markings are similar. I added a piece of wood and another pot for more coverage. I will try re-arranging the tank tomorrow and see if that works or else I will need to move the Ram. Here is a pic:

Hmmm hes looking very Surinamensis in that pic, although even if he is,very good price!

Yeah, could be. I've been looking at pics and they are all so close ! I suppose when he gets bigger, I will be better able to tell. He may get too big for the current tank. I have been looking for a 125 gallon or bigger on CL forever and can't find the right one. I may as well put the tank on layaway now and have hubby start building the stand :shifty: He will likely be a tankmate for my Rotkeil. Afraid I need to re-home my female Sev as she is just too mean.

I truly have been enjoying watching him. Great fishy !

They look so similar to rams when juvenile. If their ventral fins had red/blue colour instead of yellow in the first post, I would have guessed bolivians.
