Geo Altifrons

i saw some geo altifons at an lfs todsy and they really caught my eye... £10 each... is this about the right price for 2.5-3 inch fish?

im tempted to add them to my ornatum tank but not 100% sure

Very nice, the one I had for a while was very bolshy I found, the albios are nicer.

A reasonable price, certainly, for a shop.

If you get them, get either a bonded pair or a group of at least 5 though. THey are scrappy little oiks (like all the surinamensis complex of geos) and you either need to spread out the chasing/aggression or make sure there is none. They can also show aggression to other species of eartheaters.

my thought was to add them to my ornatum tank to try and get them to relax a little instead of a group of tetra or similar but if they are fiesty then maybe its not the best idea as i dont want the ornatums getting bullied or damaged

lovely fish though.... shame!

They are better in a group and they dont go for other fish only squabble with each other, the bolshy one I had only squabbled with the syno cat for some reason?

so would they be an option as kind of dithers in my ornatum tank...?

my only other issue is that the ornatums and ebjd are mainly mid-bottom level fish and the geos would be the same giving nothing at the mid-top half of the tank

Simple dont look up I have a little suri here at the moment, probs 2-3" been in quarantine now 3 weeks, no issues with him/her, just a single though, the lack of spots is leading me to think he is an altifrons (same as the pics you put up) if you do get a small group and could add this chap if you want him, he needs a home
