Looking for information on the colour genetics of swordails or plays for a science fair project

A colour prediction project for offspring

So ie if bred a orange swordtail to various colors what would they expected colour of the offspring be??

I can find no source for colour genetics.. Getting rather frustrated. Anyone no of where I can find the info??

Not too with it on swordtails, but I would imagine many in the fish trade have been crossed and crossed and crossed and so their genetics are going to be be very complicated.

What you'd want are wild fish which have a much smaller gene pool being crossed with another. That way you could have a chance at accurately predicting your offspring ratios.

It depends on which genes are dominant and which are recessive, talking to someone like Helter Skelter would be your best bet, he probably knows which genes are dominant and recessive.
