I've been playing about the last week or so making my own gel food for my goldies (2x blackmoors approx 4inch body length). They seem to love it but I'm a little unsure as to how much to actually give them in comparison to the old flake/pellets.

I've cut the gel in to roughly 1 cm cubes and give them one cube over the period of the day (a third in the morning before work, a third on arrival home at about 6pm and the rest about 9pm). That way, they're getting a steady supply of food over the course of the day rather than one big hit each day. In my mind this is probably more alike to what they're likely to find if they were wild.

Is 1x 1cm cube per day too much though?

well, whats in it?

it should be ok as long as they are digesting it all.

Broccoli, peas, kale, cabbage greens, multi vitamin (dissolved), vitamin C (dissolved), calcium carbonate (dissolved), tuna, spring water (non chlorinated water), paprika and gelatine to hold it all together,

Smells awful though. I've seen another recipe on the web that uses a less greens and is lower in protein for the winter months to enable easier digestion when the water cools down. I alternate a day of gel and a day of ocean nutrition flake to give a bit of variety.
