my tank is in the conservatory and gets quite lot of light and warmth, when it actually gets hot here in the u.k...... i get a lot of what i think is (gda) green dust algae, i wipe it away and within a day or 2 it comes back!!!!!!!!!!!!! would adding phosphate removing things in my filter work on it? just read the pinned article on algae and could do without leaving my tank for weeks to cover itself in algae before removing it as ill never see my fish.......

please can anyone help me out?

Fundamentally it's the amount of natural light getting to the tank.
Increased water changes will help as this will get rid of algae spores in the tank. Reduce feeding too. How about finding something that eats the algae? Nerite snails, Ottos and Bn Plecs are good.

i have about 20 shrimp already in there that try thier best to get through the algae on the decor and plants and i had 4 apple snails but they past away (r.i.p). i was told that no algae eating fish would touch this kind of algae by lfs...... if ottos do i could get a few of them i guess, anything will help... or a smallish plec....

woulad a phosphate remover in my filter be of any use with this kind of algae?
