The problem with lfs bought meds they only tend to work on mild bacteria infections.

You could soak the fish food in garlic juice to stimulate appitite, and boost the immune system.

Hi Wilder, thanks for checking, he is still the same really, no better, no worse. Still no other fish showing signs. I am going to try a double dose of the interpet med in a big bucket for a few hours tonight to see what happens. I will also try some garlic juice soaked flakes ...

He really needs the double dose med in a tank. As you need to treat the first dose for 4 days.
A bucket won't do much good i'm afraid.


Do you have any antibiotics.

I don't have a spare tank im afraid no antibiotics either. The meds I have available are interpet #9, interpet #8, interpet anti-white spot, epsom salts, table salt.

I am guessing nothing other than #9 is worth trying. Where would I get antibiotics from? I will just have to try the bucket method for now, if i do it every night it may help?

You can use ours. If you have some spare. But make sure there not out of date.
Would need to know the name of the antibiotic and dosage.

You can get some good deals on small tanks. Even a plastic one would be fine, as long as the heater has an attachment that comes away from the plastic.

Hmmm, it might be possible that I have some around, but as you say, they might be out of date. I will take a look at a small tank in LFS, but I won't be able to get there till the weekend due to work

I got home to fine him kind of floating verticaly struggling to get to surface, I fished him out and put him out of his misery in ice cold water He wasn't far away from the end. Thanks for all your help.
