..i saw gold nugget plecos for $25 (canada) each..

i wanna get one cause as far as i know, they are rare and expensive, but i wanna make sure about this:

will it fight with my comon? i heard that smaller the plec, more agressive...

and compatible?

2 discus
4 Clown loach
7 sterbai cory
3 3 lined cory
2 elegans cory
8 zebra danio
4 sparkling gourami..

and of course my common pleco which i will replace when too big for some other kind of pleco..i think i found one!

is it ok? i know it should be but just in case...

Sounds like a good deal on a beautiful plec!

Only problem I might see would be the mix that you already have. Seems like the clown loaches and zebra danios would be too active to be mixed with discus. I'm sure it is a mighty impressive looking tank, but keep an eye on those discus for any signs of stress. Doesn't take much to irritate them.

i read on planet catfish that they are very teritorial to bottom feeders..(thinking bout cories...)

i suppose i could try to get one and see how it works out..then i can get more..and get 2 more to sell to pet shops...

no worries i plan on getting rid of the zebra danios if they stress my discus out, but not yet!

Will you be replacing the 4 clown loaches too...?

Plecos are territorial but I don't think size makes any difference. I wouldn't keep both in one tank but seeing as it's hard to get hold of the golden nuggets for a good price - go for it but be prepaired for any trouble.

Cories aren't usualy bothered by plecos IME.

The zebra danios are ok if in a large group usualy - even with discus. Plus I think people over-react about discus sensitivity. They aren't as fragile as they used to be. Maybe compared to some other fish but they are not THAT bad. I'd be more worried about those clown loaches...

I wouldnt, the fish you have already are not really that compatible anyway, the clown loaches will all grow huge and will be competing for bottom space with the golden nugget as well as the common plec.

Unless you plan to upgrade the tank significantly I wouldnt bother, but then, have you listened to any advice before?.....

of course i have, one form you i have changed all my gravel in all tanks just for my cories!

i think i will definatly get another tank, planning on a 200 gallon and then the 55 as a cory tank only.

then i'll probably buy even more clowns but will not keep the pleco it looks like a monster! :/

This sounds much more positive :) Especially if it involves 200G tanks, then you can keep the clown loaches and the plec!

As ryan said to me when i was looking to buy one, "They spend 23.5 hours a day hiding and defending their territory"

At $25 they're a steal!

I'll be a nice guy and even tell other people where this "secret" pet shop is :p

it is mainly for chinese people...and stuff but they got really nice, cheap, healthy fish...

only if ur in toronto...

...Market village, beside pacific mall, you will see a small fish store

$25 gold nugget pleco..
$14 discus!
