Both 75g (US). I like to think they compliment each other and not rival each other.

astounding, although if that pink stuff in the saltwater is background, I suggest a change. If not, good as it is.

It's coraline algae. Very calcerous and hard. If you think it's tough to scrape normal algae off your glass, try this stuff. Calls for a pneumatic drill :)
It's good for reef tanks though. In a planted tank, well maybe not as beneficial. The tank was a full reef until a couple of months ago when I started changing it over because I'm just not really into corals.

It's still a work in progress and I reckon it'll take a year at least to get it where I want it. Not easy getting a hold of decent SW plants unfortunatley.

Your freshwater is stunning, really great work, I love the SW too. If I had a sw tank I would want it planted too.

Nice tanks.

What plants do you have in the SW tank? I didn't know there were any plants capable of surviving in SW.

wow the SW planted looks amazing, i'll bet it's hard to get SW plants.... lcuky enough to find a decent selection of corals!

Thanks for the comments guys. Appreciated.

The only true vascular plant in the SW tank is manatee grass. The rest are various species of macroalgaes. There's also a few star polyps, mushroom corals in and some xenia.

Wow, Im a big fan of Macro myself, your systems gorgeous. I collect a variety of mine by hand. Have tried a number of Caulepra sp. but none have gone very well, but now ive got MH things might be different.

Can you explain your system specs please (lighting/filtration/stock etc.), and any dosing you might do? Do you add NO3/Phosphate? Im new to the SW Macro game, so what about creating a tank profile for us down in this thread! :D Please! :p The other salties down there in the "dark side" of the forum will like reading/seeing it too!

I'll get the tanks in the profile thread but here's a quick rundown on the SW. Lighting is 8*54w HO T5 with 4 actinics, 2 aquablues (11000K) and 2 daylights. I'll eventually replace two of the actinics with daylights. Filtration via 120 pounds of live rock and a skimmer in the 20g sump. The skimmer doesn't do much though. I'm thinking of pulling the plug. I dose KNO3, KH2PO4 and traces. We are talking very small amounts here. NO3 is barely testable and I still get no readings on PO4 but I know it is there.
