Fuval +3 Filter Change

Hello,

Just checked my stas and my Nitrite is at 0.25ppm Tank has been running for 6 weeks with all stats good. Two bronze corys had to be put in as my tBs were nipping there dorsal fin. On doing my last water change i cleaned the filter pads as they were pretty dirty. The two were cleaned in the old water, have I done the wrong thing by cleaning the two at once and killed all the good bacteria. Has this caused the Nitrite jump?

Do I perform a 25% water change also?

should be fine cleaning both at the same time, but yes i'd suggest doing a 20% water change daily until the levels are back to normal
