Right, the house is being rebuilt and we're gonna have a new fishtank as the downstairs centrepiece. I've been given the task of sorting it out and so far I've comeup with the following setup, and would like to know if I'm gonna encounter any problems or whether I should change anything....
120Gl Tank
1X JBL 1200l/hr external filter
1X Protein skimmer (not sure which one yet but I think budget's gonna limit this to a sub£100 option, ie AQUAMEDIC TURBOFLOTOR 750, has anyone had any experiance with this?)
1X UV sterilizer (again not sure what to get... any advice would be helpful)
2X rena 300W heaters
Not sure whether CO2 will be needed or not, I'd like to have a fair few live plants, and am using the nutrafin CO2 system with my current setup and it's really helped the plant growth, will several of these be able to adequately supply a 120gl tank or will I need a proper CO2 setup?
Stock:
8 X Discus
2 X Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlids
Shoal of 10 or so Cardinals<--- will these be ok with the Discus or will they be eaten?
Some bottom Dwellers<----not sure what, advice needed
and if there's still room a few hatchet fish for the surface.
I've yet to decide on the level of planting, so I'm unsure as to what level of lighting will be needed.
Any help would be much apprectiated
