Ive been thinking and planning this layout. what do you think, comments?

There will be a 2litre bottle of diy co2 and 3 15W T8 tubes making 3WPG.

Looks good to me, perhaps extend the water sprite around to the front of the filter as well to hind it a bit more. How big does the stargrass get, thought it was quite a low growing plant?

Good idea about the water sprite. Tropica says 30cm-50cm.

I had a rekord 70 check out my first journal in my sig.

With the rekord70 being quite tall you`ll need to upgrade/modify the lights, especially planning to grow riccia and E.Stellata

I think if you planted in blocks like you suggested, since they are all in rows, it would turn into a Dutch sort of layout.

I also presume rotala indica is the red sp. and not the green? If red, then are you sure you want it so central. LOL thats only a thought, it depends how you imgine the rest of the scape forming around it in the aquascape. Its certainly something to think about.

Again, i haven`t a clue what the wood looks like, but how about spreading it a little rather than bunching it! But, i haven`t seen it, it could look cool all bunched at the side. Certainly something else to think about.

Hope that helps.

What i have learnt from doing my two tanks is get and firm idea in your
head of what YOU want it to look like and stick to it.

Good Luck

Chris

Cool, thanks for the reply. Yeah, ive read your journal, enjoyed alot. I will be adding 2 more lights.
Regarding the Rotala Indica, some pictures are red, some are green and some are only slightly red almost yellow and thats what i want. I wasnt plannng having the wood so bunched i just drew out a rough idea where it was going to be.
Thanks again.

I don`t think tropica do any indicia species as standard in the catalogue. Although most places stock it as an easy growing red plant. I have seen it at my LFS`s and i think greenline do it.
I suspect the yellow / slightly red plants are indicia that is growing short of nutrient, particularly iron.

I am actually thinking of introducing some into my current aquascape.

You talk about a completely green indica species....where have you seen this? Are you sure it isn`t just another rotala species altogether?

Chris

It is rotala indica. Ive seen it in some of the AGA aquascaping contests and also on google images. Maybe ill have to re-think about getting this plant.
Anything you recomend that is slightly redish. Mabe Ludwigia Inclinata.

Slightly redish...yes : rotala rotundifolia

Great plant, easy grower yet eligant. Green stub to middle with red to tip.

Excellent, one of my fav plants.

Chris

Wow, looks great. Cant find it on greenline or java-plants though.

Edit: actually i just found it on greenline
