Hi. I've only recently added a coconut cave with some java moss on it's back. There is now what looks like furry bits growing on the moss. Am I right in thinking this is possibly some little bits of flake that have got caught up and are now rotting? (not that I noticed the flake in it at any point)

What's the best way to clean it off? Can I removed the moss and wash it under the tap?

Cheers

are you sure its not the java moss growing? because i know the moss does have some very fine small leaves and makes it look furry.

Don't think so. It looks almost exactly the same as when food flakes go bad. Another thing is, it's not getting like this all over. Just on certain parts.

I've been reading about hairy algae (or whatever it's called). Could it be this? I've got no experience with it so can't tell.
