Are you sure its bogwood as I know other members have had problems with other kinds of wood and fungus (fur). From what I remeber it is not harmful so if it bothers you pull it out, almost positive its a fungus but pics would help. Try posting in the tropical chat section with a pic. Just be sure of what kind of wood you have as some is unsuitable to the aquarium.

You would need to wash your wood off in hot water or boil it and see if that helps to rid of the fungus.

Hi, I've just read a post in the 'New to the hobby' section by 'The-Wolf' called 'using wood' which says that you should air dry the wood for a few days then microwave for 30 seconds on full power to help stop the growyh of any kind of algae.
