Hi guys, My male cockatoo cichlid has developed a white spot on his forehead, very strange. He's not lethargic or appearing ill with it. I've added a picture of it below, see what you think of it!

It's not very big but it is raised, almost like a blister i guess.

Any ideas? :/

It's just a white spot, nothing more. It just appeared today, it wasn't there this morning, and was there tonight when i got in. From a picture in a book i have it looks like it could be the start of hole in the head. But i'll watch it for a day or two before treating it. It may just go away!

the fish appears to be alright though. he isn't hiding away or looking ill. We'll see how it goes.

My water stats at the weekend were

pH 7
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 25-50
Temp is about 26C - 79F

Update:

The spot seems to have faded this morning, if not gone completely. But i will monitor the fish, and test the water again, make sure it wasn't brought out by stress.

Fair enough, it doesn't look anything like that. maybe he's just becoming an adolescent male! :D

Like i say the spot has almost faded, and he's not ill with it. Quite the opposite as he chases the ladies!

Thanks for the advice so far, i'll keep popping back if it gets worse again.

Ok, glad it fading healthy fish can really heal them selves, good luck.
