I was a little kid fishin at my friends pond. My family was there with me and we were having a pretty good time. All catch and release btw. Anyway my friend was using this monster hook that was like 3" long. Don't remember why it's not like there was anything in the pond big enough for him to catch with it. Anyway the day was just about over and he had just taken the huge hook off his line and put on a more reasonable one. He threw a couple practice casts just messin around. Around the third practice cast I heard a scream and noticed that the fish line had settled on the ground rather than going out into the water. I turn around to see my sister sitting on the ground crying with her hand over the left side of her face. Everyone ran over to her. My friends fishhook had gotten stuck in her cheek. There was a scratch on her glasses after that so apparently the fishhook hit her lense and slipped off, sticking into her cheek. My friend pulled so hard when he cast that the line broke (i think, it was a long time ago) She went to the emergency room and got it removed. Just thought I'd share that ironic story with you guys.

Not exactly a fish story....

Once, as a child, my father brought home some live crabs for dinner. I thought they were great, and looked at them for an hour before we were ready to cook. Being a very level headed sort of child, I knew they were going to die to become dinner. I went to my room... and after ten minutes, I heard screaming. I ran downstairs to find my mother, cornered at the sink, a crab at her feet, snapping.. a crab on the counter, snaping, and a third, making a break for the patio door. My father tried to rescue my mother from the counter-crab, and it grabbed his finger and he swore very loudly. :D I fell over laughing. Eventually we caught all of them and threw them back into the pot, this time with a brick over the lid.

They were delicious. :D

(I've had jiggers caught in my hand, before, at least 5 hooks (I think I was 11). They push the hook in, cut the actual 'hook' parts off with wire cutters, and slip them out. Didn't even get the benefit of a doctor. :/ )

When I was a kid (about 6 or 7 years old) and I had 2 goldfish in a maybe 1g bowl and I went out of town and when I came back one goldfish was gone and the other one was dead with a bone sticking out of its mouth.

When I was about 8 I had a goldfish in the same bowl after the other 2 died and it was in my moms room and the bowl was on a wobboly table with her stereo and I was changing the station which was making the tabel shake and I wasn't paying attention but the bowl was getting closer and closer to the edge of the table and it started to fall on its left side then I was able to catch it before it hit the ground (the goldfish surprisingly never fell out) and it died like a week later after sitting on bottom and and going in a circle for air then it would go in a circle back to the bottom but we didn't know what was wrong with it so we flushed it.
