Funny Looking Bump

Hi There

One of my female Marmalades is growing a funny looking bump on the side of the body. First I thought she just grazed it on the rocks as there is a bit of chasing going on as they are breeding. But it seems to have turned into a bump and it looks if it is going to burst any minute. She is feeding ok but then goes and hides.
Has anybody got ant ideas ?

Any help is welcome

I would issolate her as you don't want it bursting in the tank, plus you will need a bacterial med for her.

What happens if it bursts in the main tank ? Cant set my hospital tank up until tomorrow.

The bacteria could infect the other fish that comes out of the bump.

I had a female calvus get one once, right at her belly and when it popped you could actually see her food she'd just eaten come out the side!!! while it was kinda gross it was fascinating to watch. I treated her as if she had dropsy and she survived on to spawn a few times, she's still alive to this day infact.

Pimafix is a wonderful naturel med used along with Melafix should help her heal up well.
