Hi

The other day i noticed one of my platys had like a very light white colour which reflected when it went near the light, two days later it died :(

now two more of my platys are starting to look like they have a sort of white reflection on there bodies which i fear will kill them off but i dont know what to do. All eating ok and seem to be fine.

any ideas of what it might be.

hmmm never even heard of it!

however a quick search leads me to believe something like protozoin or any other ich med should do the trick.

please do some more research and get this backed up but looking through the pinned topic costia seems to be classed along with ich.

It does sound like it could be cosista, aka slime disease. This is a parasite, and can be treated with most parasite meds.

Often times when fish become sick, it is a result of stress. What are your water stats (ammonia, nitrite, ntirate), how big is your tank, and what types of fish/how many fish do you have in it?

Just adding the meds without looking at other factors can be like putting a bandaid on gunshot wound.
