I have got two sailfin mollies mail and female, both seem fine eating well and all that. I came back from holiday a found my male had a bad case of white spot :crazy: , and looking a bit worse for ware to say the least :unsure: . Did a large water change then and there and turned the heat up a bit. The white spot cleared up but now I think he has a fungus of some sort? :sad: Can this affect the other fish? None of the others seem to be effected just my male sailfin (Gomez) I have read that mollies can be quite prone to these two things, is this true and is there more than one type of fungus or can you get a some thing that treats them all at once.

Hope you can help cure my mouldy molly. :)

Can you describe the exact symptoms of the fungus?

Unfortunately many sailfin mollys are prone to getting fungal infections when kept in freshwater conditions, the best way to treat the fungus is to buy a 5gallon hospital tank, clone the filtration to get it instantly cycled, and then add about 1-2 teaspoons of marine salt per 5gallons.
Unfortunately it is not adviseable to treat your mollys with salt while in your main tank as you have quite a few salt intolerant fish whose health will be put under a lot of strain if you treat the tank with salt.

thanks for you help, that artical was very helpful, the only problem i have is i don't have room even for a small tank :(. the molly has just got one or two whiteish gray patches on him? could this be a fungus or some thing else. i will try and get a pic of him if he will stay still.

If its just two whitish grey patches (which are not particularly fluffy in appearance), then the mollys could have columnaris which is a different thing.
If you can't get a small tank to treat the mollys in, the next best thing you can do would be to buy some vitamin/mineral supliments for fish and to treat the tank with an anti bacterial and fungal med- a vitamin/mineral supliment like this would be very good for your mollys;
