Fish have fungus like growths over eyes and also covering parts of their bodies and around the shape of their fins. Affected fish are lethargic and not eating.

Water changes after any dubious parameter reading (around 1/3 depending on readings) but main water changes every two weeks around 1/3.

No additives apart from tonight with the anti fungus/fin rot treatment.

Tank inhabitants: 4 tiger barbs, three gouramis, three glass cats, 4 cories, 3 silver hatchets, 1 pristella, 1 blue (or whatever) lobster - it is the legal kind for UK

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): None but a move around 2 nights ago and 1/3 water change

Exposure to chemicals: none recently apart from fungus treatment about 2 months ago. Lost two Tiger barbs then, Hathcet fish had fungus like growths over eyes, treated with the above treatment and all (apart from the 2 departed Tigers) were subsequently fine. No other treatment since. No other additions

Digital photo (include if possible): sorry ain't got the technology!

Main concern is that this happened about 2 months ago and the fish and tank appeared to be fine - we lost 2 Tigers but were partially convinced that they were the older two and perhaps succumbed through old age. A bit concerned that this time it has come back over night and is particularly virulent - fish were okay last night - this evening on return from work the Tigers in particular are covered and look most unhappy. Did we not treat for long enough last time? Although followed instructions and fish have been okay in meantime.

At least 1 tiger looks like it's is on its way out although we are waiting until the treatment has kicked in. Apart from beginners problems we have had no trouble at all and have had a balanced tank (apart from the mini outbreak 2 months ago) for around 12 months

Need to be doing a water change and gravel vac once a week.
See how the fungus and finrot med goes.
But I find personally myxazin and pimafix is better.

Thanks Wilder

Will try that - lost all Tigers overnight, one cory, 1 hatchet fish. The Tigers have literally fallen to pieces, it's rather distressing. And has happened so quickly.

WE have sand rather than gravel by the way.
